Remember that your attorney should only represent you and not also the Regional Centers or the project manager at the same time, because they are on the opposite side of the same business transaction. If a commission is paid by a Regional Center as a “finder’s fee” to your attorney without your prior knowledge and consent, it is considered a conflict of interest and is unethical for an attorney to receive such funds.
Tip:All regional centers are not equal.
Most Regional Centers are only a few years old. Many are not appropriately capitalized or staffed. Subscription fees vary widely and so do the options and structures for EB-5 investment and related exit strategies. We can guide you through this.
Tip:Project Approval does not guarantee EB-5 funding.
Pre-approval of your EB-5 project by the immigration authorities does not guarantee final approval of EB-5 visa petitions.
Tip: When should you consult your attorney?
It is strongly advised to consult with your attorney before you invest in any EB-5 project. That way, you will be able to make a more informed decision on whether to invest in a project in the first the place.
